Resolving Credit Card Payment Problems

For U.S. families, we recommend eCheck over credit card payments. eCheck processing is just as convenient, secure, and fraud-protected as credit card processing. However, eCheck saves everyone money because it involves fewer third-party processors charging multiple transaction fees. TPS does not store any eCheck or credit card information, and TPS staff have no access to the information. The credit card information you enter bypasses our site and servers and goes straight to Authorize.net for processing. The eCheck data is similarly processed by First ACH. If you want to pay by credit card but are having trouble:

  • Make sure you are using a Visa, Mastercard, Discover or Union Pay.
  • If you have successfully used this card to pay TPS before, try adding the same card again as a new card and paying with it. (Credit card data is not stored by TPS, but by the gateway Authorize.net. TPS only links to the card data. If the card information is locked by Authorize.net, the only recourse is to create a new TPS link to the card, and delete the old TPS link.)
  • If adding the card to your account again does not allow the transaction to process, the issue is likely that your credit card bank is blocking the transaction. In this case, please call your credit card fraud protection (the phone number is usually on the card) and ask them to allow the transaction.
