TPS Pre-Algebra – Accessible and Effective!
“Your student isn’t ready for Algebra…” No high school parent wants to hear that.
TPS has been teaching Math on-line since 1997, and too often we have had to say, “Your student isn’t ready for Algebra.” A solid Algebra foundation is essential. Algebra is a foundational prerequisite for Chemistry, required for success on the SAT or ACT, the primary background for Statistics used by all the Social Sciences, and the starting point for any upper-level Math and Physical Science.
The key to being academically ready for a solid Algebra course is an effective Pre-Algebra course. Pre-Algebra is the bridge from concrete math (arithmetic, fractions, percents, remainders) to conceptual math (variables, irrational numbers, functions, infinities and limits, optimal approaches).
What makes an “effective” Pre-Algebra course for homeschoolers?
By these criteria, there are very few good math programs for homeschoolers. This is why TPS is pleased to announce adoption of the Math Mammoth curriculum for TPS Pre-Algebra and TPS Math Fundamentals 6. (We also plan to use Math Mammoth for Math Fundamentals 5 and 4 when we introduce them in 2018-19.)
Math Mammoth is respected in both academic reviews and homeschool accessibility ratings. It is also well-designed to prepare a student to transition into the high school math curriculum used by TPS.
Don’t wait to find out if your student is going to be ready for Algebra on time. TPS Pre-Algebra with Math Mammoth will help you be sure.
TPS Pre-Algebra is offered at two levels, Standard and Honors:
